![]() We know some of you had your heart’s set on playing Firmament this summer, and we’re genuinely sorry that you’re not going to be able to play it yet! We’re really bummed about that too!Īlthough there is no Release Date to announce today, we can tell you a couple things with some level of certainty: Firmament is not coming in 2020. With that in mind, Firmament’s Estimated Delivery date of July 2020 was- as it turns out- a wildly optimistic one. ![]() Here’s a bit of Cyan’s reasoning behind the delay, which is said to push the game’s release date possibly to 2022. The reality of creating a game however is admittedly “often quite a bit messier,” the studio says in a recent Kickstarter update. ![]() A version is still set to launch at some point for SteamVR headsets.Original Article (July 13th, 2020): Firmament’s launch window seemed a bit tight from the onset, however from an experienced studio that had previously created its latest VR-compatible puzzle adventure game Obduction to both PC VR and PSVR, it seemed not all together impossible. You’ll probably at very least want to play on an Nividia GTX 970 or AMD R9 290 for decent results.Ĭyan has also released its built-for-VR refresh of Myst (2020), which is available across Oculus Quest headsets. Upon release in 2016, Obduction essentially required top specs to run, although it has since been optimized to some degree and also performs much better on recent hardware. We gave it a solid in our review for its patented charm, challenging puzzles, and excellent visuals. You’ll do plenty of thinking and backtracking across the game’s large sci-fi universe, which is mysteriously dotted with little pieces of Earth. Like the studio’s other beloved adventure games, Obduction is a slow and plodding affair that requires patience and problem solving skills. Make sure to add it to your wishlist so you don’t miss out. The game is set to be free on the Epic Games Store from July 15th – 22nd. ![]() Obduction is Cyan’s first VR-compatible puzzle adventure, and supports SteamVR headsets. Cyan, the prolific developers behind Myst (1993) and Riven (1997), is giving away Obduction (2016) on the Epic Games Store starting next week. ![]()
